The Assignment

Harry Gruen entered the Six Sentence Café & Bistro and took a moment to look around thinking that this is a definite out of control bar.

He sidled up to the bar laying a twenty on the weathered top, “Luv, could you possibly pour me a brandy and take it to the table over in the corner?”

Denise, the bartender, looked Harry up and down thinking this is not someone that normally comes in here.

Harry eased into the booth and looked around again but didn’t spot his assigned target.

He smiled as he knew he would get to drink copious amounts of brandy before the night was over.

The challenge? Write a story in 6 sentences, no more & no less, and if you’d like, share your creation or just visit and comment on others’ ideas, with GirlieOnTheEdge, Denise. The prompt is “Control”, and here’s where you join the party: Six Sentence Stories

All stories of Harry Gruen is now linked on the Storylines page if you wish to read them all.

  1. Hey good to see a new face at ‘the Café’
As someone else mentioned, one of the SSC&B’s distinguishing qualities is something akin to the Uncertainty Principle.
You can experience it’s ambiance and you can interact with those you meet there… however, one shouldn’t count on doing both at the same time.
    lol
    Fun Six

  2. Matt…ask Clark to tell you what happened to Lou Cesare …that will give you an idea of the chained reaction “Luv” will enable!
As a token to Harry: The Gatekeeper does not necessarily refer to the door of the SSC&B.
    Welcome!

  3. Would we say that he’s driving himself to a brandy haze via “target” practice?
And how many times will Denise have to cross the room?
Hope, for his sake, that he tips very well! 😉
