As a long haul trucker, I’m used to being by myself with just the open road and my thoughts spinning through my mind entertaining myself with stories.

I generally don’t like having a rider along as they interrupt my thinking and is somewhat dangerous, but when a middle age woman came up and asked for a ride at the truck stop, I was intrigued.

She didn’t look like the typical truck stop groupie that is usually grungy or have excess make up, instead she was dressed in blue jeans and a plaid shirt with a simple backpack.

I knew I was taking a chance, but I threw caution to the wind and nodded yes to her.

She thanked me but not overly so and said her name was Harmony.

It’s been six months now and I still don’t know anything about her, but I enjoy the company.

The challenge? Write a story in 6 sentences, no more & no less, and if you’d like, share your creation or just visit and comment on others’ ideas, with GirlieOnTheEdge, Denise. The prompt is “Harmony”, and here’s where you join the party: Six Sentence Stories

All parts of the Harmony story is now linked on the Storylines page if you wish to read them all.

  1. Awww, thats so sweet. I thought one of them was going to be a serial killer. Criminal Minds has given me ideas about truckers and hitchhikers. I am glad he has company that doesn’t bug him though.
